DECLARING RESULTS OF ELECTION
WHEREAS, there was held in the City of Pearland,
Texas, on the 12th day of December, 1967, an election at which
there was submitted to the duly qualified resident electors
of said City who owned taxable property within said City and who
had duly rendered the same for taxation, for their action
thereupon, the proposition of the issuance of sanitary sewer
system improvements and extensions bonds and the levy of the
tax in payment thereof; and
W~H~REAS, there were cast at said election 339 votes,
of which number there were cast:
FOR THE ISSUANCE OF BONDS 142 votes
AGAINST THE ISSUANCE OF BONDS 197 votes
as shown in the official election returns heretofore submitted
to the City Council of said City and duly filed with the Secretary
of said City; and
WH]EREAS, said election was called and held in all
respects under and in strict conformity with the Constitution
and laws of the State of Texas; Therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PEARLAND, ~EXAS:
Section 1: That the bond election held in and through-
out the City of Pearland, Texas, on the 12th day of December,
1967, which election is more particularly described in the mre-
amble of this resolution, was duly called and notice thereof
given and said election was held under and in strict conformity
with law; that only duly qualified resident electors of said
city who owned taxable property within said City and who had
duly rendered the same for taxation voted at said election;
that due returns of said election have been made by the proper
officers; and that said election has resulted unfavorably to
the issuance of the bonds.
Section 2: That the City Council of said City is
not authorized to issue said bonds or to levy and collect taxes
in payment thereof.
