1997-03-31 CITY COUNCIL AND PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION JOINT PUBLIC HEARING MEETING MINUTES 6:15PMMINUTES OF A JOINT PUBLIC HEARING OF THE CITY COUNCIL AND THE PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PEARLAND, TEXAS, HELD ON MARCH 31, 1997, AT 6:15 P.M., IN THE COUNCIL CHAMBERS, CITY HALL, 3519 LIBERTY DRIVE, PEARLAND, TEXAS. The hearing was called to order with the following present: Mayor Tom Reid Mayor Pro Tem Jerry Richardson Councilmember Helen Beckman Councilmember Larry Wilkins Councilmember Kevin Cole P & Z Vice Chairman Pat Lopez Commissioner Randy Patro Commissioner Jack Mathis Commissioner Emil Beltz Commissioner Mary Starr Interim City Secretary Wendy Standorf City Attorney Amy McCullough Others in attendance: Assistant City Manager Richard Burdine; Director of Administrative Services Mary Hickling; and Project Coordinator Alan Mueller. P & Z Vice Chairman Pat Lopez read the purpose of the public hearing into the record. PURPOSE OF HEARING - SPECIFIC USE PERMIT NO. 49 Request of Sharon L. Johnson, agent, for Bob Ellis, owner, for an amendment to the Land Use and Urban Development Ordinance of said City for a Specific Use Permit on the following described property, to -wit: .7194 acre tract of land out of Tract 43 of the Zychlinski subdivision of the H.T. & B. R.R. Co. Survey, Section 2, Abstract 542, Brazoria County, Texas. (3909 Halik) Assistant City Manager Burdine informed Council of the location of the property and advised them that the tenant would be moving an existing structure off of the property and moving another one on. PERSONS WISHING TO SPEAK FOR THE PROPOSED REQUEST Sharon D. Johnson, 3909 Halik addressed Council stating that they were indeed planning to move out the existing structure and move another structure onto the property. 91 PERSONS WISHING TO SPEAK AGAINST THE PROPOSED REQUEST None. COUNCIL/PLANNING COMMISSION/STAFF DISCUSSION Councilmember Cole inquired about the need for a specific use permit if there is an existing structure. Mr. Burdine informed Council that it was to bring the property into compliance.
