M. IN THE COUNCIL CHAMBERS, CITY HALL, 3519 LIBERTY DRIVE, PEARLAND, TEXAS The Hearing was called to order at 7:05 P. M. with the following present: Mayor Pro Tem Randy Weber Councilmember D. A. Miller Councilmember Benny Frank Councilmember David Smith Planning & Zoning Chairman Richard Tetens Planning & Zoning Vice Chairman Emil Beltz Commissioner Helen Beckman Commissioner Jack Womack Commissioner Pat Lopez Commissioner James Garner City Manager Paul Grohman City Attorney Lester Rorick City Secretary Pat Jones Also present were Division Directors Richard Burdine and Glen Erwin and City Engineer John Hargrove. Absent from the Hearing: Mayor Coppinger, Councilmember Colson, and Commissioner Starr. NUMBER OF SIGNATURES ON ATTENDANCE ROSTER: 8 PURPOSE OF THE HEARING: APPLICATION NO. 32 REQUEST OF ROBERT J. CAMPBELL, OWNER, FOR AN AMENDMENT TO THE LAND USE AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT ORDINANCE FROM CLASSIFICATION R-3, PUD, SINGLE FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT, PLANNED UNIT DEVELOPMENT TO R-3, PUD, SINGLE FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT, PLANNED UNIT DEVELOPMENT, ON THE FOLLOWING DE- SCRIBED PROPERTY, TO -WIT: 26.7399 ACRES OUT OF THE NORTHWEST ONE-FOURTH OF SECTION II, H.T. & B.R.R. CO. SURVEY A-2391 BRAZORIA COUNTY, TEXAS (WILLOWICK, SECTION 2) SPEAKING FOR THE PROPOSED REQUEST: 1. Robert Campbell, 2303 Golfcrest. Mr. Campbell explained this subdivision was approved in 1986 and the property is located between Willowick I and the park. Pulte Homes has a contract pending to purchase the area which contains 108 lots. SPEAKING AGAINST THE PROPOSED REQUEST: 1. Lynn Laycock, 5001 Rockland. Mr. Laycock spoke in opposi- tion due to the access situation into Willowick and Corri- gan. Mr. Laycock voiced his concerns over the intersection at McLean, Walnut, and FM 518. QUESTION AND ANSWER PERIOD: In discussion, Council discussed square footages of the proposed homes, lot sizes, number of streets, and history of the subdivi- sion. Interested citizens were shown a plat of the area. Planning and Zoning Chairman Richard Tetens announced to inter- ested parties that the Commission would consider this item at its meeting to be held immediately following the joint public hearing in the second floor conference room.
