R2005-0076 04-25-05 RESOLUTION NO. R2005-76 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PEARLAND, TEXAS, SUPPORTING THE CREATION OF A RURAL TRANSIT DISTRICT IN FORT BEND COUNTY AND AUTHORIZING THE SELECTION OF THE COMMISSIONERS COURT OF FORT BEND COUNTY TO ACT AS THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE DISTRICT. WHEREAS, the Commissioners Court of Fort Bend County, Texas and the governing body of each municipality in Fort Bend County must resolve to create and establish the boundaries of a Rural Transit District to serve the general public in Fort Bend County; and WHEREAS, the Commissioners Court of Fort Bend County, Texas and the governing body of each municipality in Fort Bend County must select not more than nine elected officers to serve as the governing body of the Rural Transit District; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PEARLAND, TEXAS: Section 1. Resolves to create a Rural Transit District, that is not supported by any property or sales tax revenue of the City of Pearland, in Fort Bend County, Texas, to serve within boundaries of Fort Bend County, and selects the Commissioners Court of Fort Bend County to act as the governing body of the District. day of PASSED and APPROVED ON FIRST AND ONLY READING this the April , A.
