RESOLUTION NO. R2018-42
A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Pearland, Texas, authorizing the
City Manager or his designee to enter into an amended contract with Brown
and Gay Engineers, in the additional amount of $67,950.00, for engineering
services associated with the Hughes Ranch Road Project.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PEARLAND, TEXAS:
Section 1. That certain amended contract for engineering services associated with the
Hughes Ranch Road Project, a copy of which is attached hereto as Exhibit "A" and made a part
hereof for all purposes, is hereby authorized and approved.
Section 2. That the City Manager or his designee is hereby authorized to execute and
the City Secretary to attest an amended contract for engineering services associated with the
Hughes Ranch Road Project.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this the 26th day of February, A.D., 2018.

RE: Hughes Ranch Road, Additional Services
Dear Mr. Jones:
Enclosed are BGE's proposed scope, schedule and fee for various additional services requested by
the City in regard to the Hughes Ranch Road Improvements.
The additional services included in this proposal include:
• Addition of an eastbound right turn lane at Challenger Elementary School.
• Incorporation of an alternative sound wall design into the current plans.
• Additional TxDOT reviews resulting from the design changes above, and new interlocal
agreement recently executed between the City and TxDOT
Schedule for completing these additional services is 112 days. This schedule includes approximately
six weeks for advancing the design to 95% (addition of the right turn lane and sound walls), with the
remainder reserved for TxDOT 95% and 100% reviews, and time to respond to those TxDOT
comments.
Our estimated fee for these additional services is $67,950.00.
We appreciate the opportunity to be of continued service to the City for this important project. Please

Explanation:
This change order encompasses the following: Contract amendment will include Challenger Elementary right turn lane:
incorporation of a storage lane includes changes to roadway design, traffic control plan, median, illumination, storm water
pollution prevention plan, landscape and irrigation; Soundwall revision update to design; TxDOT comment review and 95% plans
submittal for full approval by TxDOT.
