Kegley in the City Hall on December 2, 1965 at7:30 P M. with the following present: ' Mayor Councilman Councilman Councilman Councilman Councilman City Attorney City Engineer John G. Inman, E. T. Gibbons James C. Young and Bill Frascino. Mayor Kegley called the meeting to order at 7:30 P. M. and stated that the purpose of the meeting was to review the water system in the old part of Pearland and for any other business that might come before the Council. A motion was made by Councilman Shukanes, seconded by Councilman Nolen that the folloWing salaries and invoices by paid. Mrs. Anthony to furnish the exact date as seen as possible. Mr. Bill Frascino representing the newly formed ~stminister Civic Club presented a copy of their recorded restrictions for the citys file and extended their desire to cooperate with the city when called upon for any civic duty. They stated tha't they' would make an effort to have at least two representatives attend each council meeting. City Secretary instructed to write a letter to the Drainage District requesting them to see what can be done about water s~anding in the ditches in Westminister Subdivision. Mr. John Waling requested the Council to see what could be done about repairing the road from F. M. 518 to entrance of LongwOod Park. Secretary instructed to write a letter to the Drainage District requesting that the entrance road and bridge into Longwood Subdivision be widened. 27.6 Mayor Kegley called a special meeting for Monday night December 6, 1965 with Mr. Waling concerning the kind of material to be used 6n the streets in Longwood Subdivision. Secretary instructed to write a letter to Commissioner Jordan requesting him to clean out the bar ditches on both sides of Dixie Farm Road south of F. M. 518. A motion was made by Councilman Nolen, seconded by Councilman Calvin that the City refund exp~nse incurred'bY Councilman Sanders for his trip to Austin on City business. This amount was $47.28. WHEREUPON, the question was asked'and the motion carried, Councilmen Nolen, Calvin, Cogbtll and Shukanes voted "aye" with Councilman Sanders abstaining. A motion was made by Councilman Calvin, seconded by Councilman Nolen that the City purchase 200 yeards of shell on an emergency basis for the west end of County Road 388 from this Wade property to Alvin Heights Road. WHEREUPON, the question was asked and the motion carried, all Councilmen present voted "aye"' with no "noes." A motion was made by Councilman Calvin, seconded by Councilman Shukanes that the City hire a dump truck and driver from Dalsco, Inc. at ~the rate of $6.00 per hour and that hot mix asphalt be purchased to patch holes in the streets. The total disbursement not to exceed $300.00 at the best available price. WHEREUPON, the question was asked and the motion carried, ali Councilmen voted "aye" with no "noes." A motion was made by Councilman Calvin, seconded by Councilman Cogbill that ~treet signs be purchased and installed in McGinnis Subdivision. WHEREUPON, the question was asked and the motion carried, all Councilmen voted "aye" with no "noes." A motion was made by Councilman Shukanes, seconded by Councilman Nolen that the City Engineer's Certificate of Completion be accepted and that the C~ity execute Certificate of Acceptance to the Texala Construction Company for Sanitary Sewer Trunk Line with Appurtenance - Contract B-2 WPC-Tex-~36, and that Engineer's Final Estimate in the amount of $36,020.79 be paid less $500.00 to assure final clean-up. WHEREUPON, the question was asked and the motion carried, all Councilmen voted "aye" with no "noes." The Subdivision Committee instructed to write a letter to Walsh and McLaren outlining their respommibility as to inspection of piping and streets installed in developments which have been installed at the developer's expense. A motion was made by Councilman Shukanes, seconded by Councilman Sanders that A. A. Jones be employed as a permanent employee of the Police Department as of January 1, 1966. WHEREUPON, the question was asked _ and the motion carried, Councilmen Nolen, Calvin, Shukaues and Sanders voted "aye" with Councilman Cogbill voting "no." A motion was made by Councilman ~olen that the salary of the Electrical Inspector be increased from $150.00 per month to $250.00 per month as of December l, 1965. WHEREUPON, the question was asked and the motion carried, all Councilmen voted "aye" with no "noes." A motion was made by Councilman Nolen, seconded by Councilman Calvin that an advertisement for bids be taken on the following material to be delivered as needed over a period of twelve months. Councilman Calvin and Councilman Sanders requested authorization to make an offer to the Alexander Estate of $3,500.00 per acre for approximately 8 acres of land on the Bbazori~ County side of Clear Creek and to offer the same amount for additional 20 feet bf ease- ment for the sewage t~nk line. A motion was made by Councilman Calvin, seconded by Councilman Cogbill that authorization be given to Councilman Calvin and Councilman Sanders to offer the Alexander Estate $3,500.00 per acre for approximately 8 acres of land on the Brazoria County side of Clear Creek and to offer the same amount for an additional 20 feet of easement for sewer trunk line. WHEREUPON, the question was asked and the motion carried, Councilmen Calvin, Cogbill, Nolen and Sanders voted "aye" with Councilman Shukanes abstaining. Meeting adjourned at 10:35 P. M.
