CITY OF PEARLAND, TEXAS, HELD ON SEPTEMBER 9, 1965 AT 7:30 P. M.
A regular meeting of the Pearland City Council was called to order by
Mayor Kegley in the City Hall at 7:30 P. M. September 9, 1965, with the
following present:

A motion was made by Councilman Cogbill, seconded by Councilman Sanders
that the minutes of regular meeting held,on August 26, 1965, be approved.
WHEREUPON, the question was asked and the motion carried, all Councilmen
voted "aye's with no "noes."
A motion was made by Councilman Calvin, seconded by Councilman Shukanes
that minutes of a special meeting held`on September 2, 1965 be approved
with the following correction in Paragraph 4 - "Cost of fire plug to be
borne by developer." WHEREUPON, the question was asked and tk)�e mgtio
carried, Councilmen Calvin, Shukanes, Nolen and Cogbill voted aye wi�h
Councilman Sanders abstaining because he was not present at the meeting.
Motion carried.
Motion made by Councilman Sanders, seconded by Councilman Calvin that
the

is to
be marked void and reissued for a different amount. WHEREUPON,

City Secretary instructed to check with the Public Works Superintendent
about taking bids for meter boxes and report back.
Councilman Shukanes, Chairman of the Budget Committee, stated that the
Committee would meet on Monday Night, September 13, 1965, with Department
Heads A. H. Casey, E. V. Harris and W. A. McClellan. Time of the meeting
7:00 P. M.
Mayor Kegley stated that a special meeting of the City Council would be
held on Thursday Night September 16, 1965 at 7:30 P. M.
Motion made by Councilman Sanders, seconded by Councilman Shukanes that
.checks be written for Judge Segelquist and Segelquist and Remoser upon
receipt of the -Corporation Court check. WHEREUPON, the question was
asked and the motion carried, all Councilmen voted "aye" with no "noes."
Upon recommendation made by the Electrical Board, Councilman Calvin made
a motion, seconded by Councilman Sanders that pictures of electrical
j workers (holding licenses) be pasted on the back of their license cards.
WHEREUPON, the question was asked and the motion carried, all Councilmen
voted "aye",with no "noes."

City Secretary be authorized to hire extra help and to rent electric
typewriters necessary to expedite the typing and mailing of tax state-
ments for the year 1965. WHEREUPON, the question was asked and the
motion carried, all Councilmen voted "aye" with no "noes."

Motion made by Councilman Nolen, seconded by Councilman Sanders that the
bond held by the City for the streets in Regency Park be released to the
Regency Park Development Company. WHEREUPON, the question was asked
and the motion carried, all Councilmen voted "aye" with no "noes,*
A discussion was held regarding a letter from Mayor B. G. Peck of Angle-
ton requesting one or more Pearland policemen to assist in the Brazoria
County Fair parade on October 5, 1965, Councilman Nolen made a motion,
'. seconded by Councilman Sanders that the officers be paid extra for their
time involved with the Brazoria County Fair. WHEREUPON, the question
was asked and the motion carried, all Councilmen voted "aye" with no
„noes."

that the following Engineering Estimates be approved for payment from
the Construction Fund Account. WHEREUPON, the question was asked and
the motion carried, all Councilmen voted "aye" with no "noes."
Walsh & McLaren - Engineering Fee on Kay Service Company contract,
resident engineering fee on Kay Service Company, Dalsco and Layne 'Texas

Company - thru August 311 1965 in the amount of $1,688.67.
Walsh & McLaren - Engineering Fee on Gulf Western Company contract
and resident engineering fees thru August 31, 1965 in the amount of
$843.46•
Walsh & McLaren - Engineering Fee on McCarty Construction Company
contract and resident engineering fee thru August 31, 1965 in the amount
of'$66.60.
Kay Service Company - Engineer's Estimate No. 3 for work completed
through August 31, 1965 in the amount of $26,895.93•
Gulf Western Construction Company - Engineer's Estimate No. Al -1 for
work completed through August 31, 1965 in the amount of $23,972.76.
McCarty Construction Company - Engineer's Estimate No. 8 and final
in the amount of $16,381.30.
Dalso, Inc. - Engineer's Estimate No. 3 for work completed through

Motion made by Councilman Nolen, seconded by Councilman Shukanes that
the contractor for water, sanitary sewage and storm sewer lines for
Willowcrest Subdivision notify the firm of Walsh and McLaren when they
need inspection of their work. WHEREUPON, the question was asked and
the motion carried, all Councilmen present voted "aye" with the exception
of Councilman Cogbill who voted "no."
Mayor Kegley.. made a motion, seconded by Councilman Shukanes that the
City reaffirm the provisions of the Subdivision Ordinance that any new
subdivision development subject to council action, where water
and sewage service is available"be classified as a First Class Sub -
Division and the rules pertaining to a First Class Subdivision are to —
be followed.
Concrete streets, curbs, gutters and storm sewers, etc.

WHEREUPON, the question was asked and the motion carried, all Councilmen

Motion made Councilman Shukanes, seconded by Councilman Nolen that the
Subdivision Ordinance be amended to require all new deveopments to
install clay pipe or equivalent and'that no concrete sanitary sewage
pipe be used. WHEREUPON, the question.was asked and the motion
carried, all Councilmen present voted "aye" faith no "noes."
