1965-04-15 CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL MEETING MINUTESMINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE PEARLAND CITY COUNCIL
HELD ON THURSDAY NIGHT APRIL 15, 1965 AT 7:30 P. M.
A special meeting of the Pearland City Council was called to order
by Mayor Kegley at 7:30 P. M. in the City'Hall on April 15, 1965,
with the following present:
Mayor John G. Kegley
Councilman Victor A. Nolen
Councilman Basil L. Cogbill
Councilman Joe Dan Calvin
Councilman Gene E. Sanders
Councilman Steve A. Shukanes
City Engineer William C. Walsh
City Secretary W. A. McClellan
Public Works
Superintendent Escue V. Harris
Visitors: Sam Tilotta, H. B. Thornton, E. A. Wasek, D. R. Keller,
Robert L. Redwine and Louis Bellview:
Mayor Kegley stated that the purpose of the meeting was to discuss
sewage plans for Westminister Subdivision, McGinnis Subdivision and
extension of line on Highway 518 West and any other business that might
properly be brought before the Council.
Motion made by Councilman Nolen, seconded by Councilman Sanders:
that plans and specifications for the service line on Will6ts Drive
in McGinnis Subdivision,and the extension of sewage line from Johnston
Street manhole West on F. M. 518, and Westminister Subdivision be
approved and advertised for bids. WHEREUPON, the question was asked
and the motion carried, all Councilmen voted "aye" with no "noes."
After due discussion of Water Well No. 1, City Engineer was instructed
to get to work on plans for a new well.
Motion made by Councilman Sanders, seconded by Councilman Nolen that
Subdivision Committee determine by the next regular meeting, whether
or not Sherwood Subidvision has been accepted by the F. H. A. and if
so, for City Secretary to relea-% the $1,000.00 check. WHEREUPON,
the question was asked and the Motion carried, all Councilmen voted
"aye" with no "noes."
Motion made by Councilman Calvin, seconded by Councilman Nolen
that Public Works Director to get competitive prices on a 221 self
propelled lawn mower with at least a 3 H. P. engine and to buy the one
for the lowest and best bid for our needs. WHEREUPON, the question
was asked and the motion carried, all Councilmen voted "ayes' with no
"noes."
Meeting adjourned at 9:20 P. M.
