MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE City COUNCIL
CITY OF PEARLAND, TEXAS, HELD ON APRIL 1, 1965, at 7.30 P. M.
A special called meeting of the Pearland City Council was called to
order by Mayor Pro Tem Victor A. Nolen at 7:30 P. M. in the City Hall
on April 1, 1965, with the following present:

Visitors: Kelly Sims, M. N. McGlathery, Sam Tilotta, Jim Bell.and
E. T. Gibbons.
Mayor Pro Tem Nolen called the meeting to order and stated that the
purpose of the meeting was to discuss water and sewer plans, problems
and needs.
M. N. McGlathery of the McGlathery Real Estate Company offered an
alternate site for sanitary sewage Plant No. 2 on the Pearland side of
Clear Creek, approximately 2,000 feet below the first site selected.
He further stated that his client would recognize a certain road as a
public road if the adjoining property owners would, and if so, he would
agree to sell the City 8 to 10 acres of land for a negotiated price.
Motion made by Councilman Hawkins that Council pursue the alternate
plan offered and that Councilman Alexander assist Mayor Kegley in
dissolving the right-of-way problem with the Alexander Estate. Seconded
by Council. WHEREUPON, the question was asked and the motion carried,
all Councilmen voted "aye" with no "noes."
Councilman Nolen reported that negotiations for right-of-way for road
with Mr. Barry Rose are progressing satis1factorily.
Motion made by Councilman Shukanes, seconded by Councilman Hawkins that
City Engineer prepare sanitary sewage bid plans on a service line �
in McGinnis Subdivision;" sewage lines"into bJestmnister Subdivision
and an extension from Lift Station # 3 on West F. M. 518, a distance
of 435 feet. WHEREUPON, the question was asked and the motion carried
all Councilmen voted "aye" with no "noes."
Motion made by Councilman Nolen, seconded by Councilman Alexander that
the City Engineer make the necessary test on the water supply system
for the City. WHEREUPON, the question was asked and the motion carried,
all Councilman voted "aye" with no "noes."
Meeting adjourned at 10:30 P. M.
