A special meeting of the Pearland City Council was called to order
at 7:00 P. M., February 1, 19659 by Mayor John Kegley inthe City
Hall, 14429 Texas Avenue, with the following city officials present.
Mayor John G. Kegley, Councilmen Victor A. Nolen, Steven A. Shukanes,
Lloyd Hawkins and Gene Sanders.
Mayor Kegley explained that the purpose of the meeting was to
discuss and firm,up a proposal to the Alexander Estate for Sewer Plant
Site No. 2 extending southwest to State Highway 518.
The following proposals were -discussed and agreed upon by all
Councilmen present:
PIPELINE RIGHT-OF-WAY C. H. ALEXANDER
ESTATE - SEWER PLANT SITE II - PROPOSAL I
1. Deed to the City a 30' utility right-of-way in East/West
direction along and South line of the H. T. & B. R. R. -
Abstract 233.
2. Deed to the City a 201 width utility right-of-way on the South-
east line of the D. H. M. Hunter Survey, Abstract 76, and said
right-of-way being paral]lej to and on the Northwest side of
existing drainage ditch from Barry Rose land to Clear Creek.

3. The City will install sewer line/sufficient size to serve
not only the old part of Pearland but all existing acreage
between the old townsite and the new sewer plant.
4. It is the policy of the City Council that unimproved acreage
remain as such for taxation purposes until such time as that
portion or portion of becomes'improved, then it will be taxed
at the improved value. eg. It is to be understood that these
major trunk lines do notconstitute improvement.
5. The City requires the right of ingress and egress to maintain
these lines by use of existing private roads.
SEWER PLANT SITE II - PROPOSAL II
1. Deed to the City that approximately 5 acres as outlined by
Walsh & McLaren indicated by plat dated January 28, 1965.
2. Furnish the right of ingress and egress to construct, operate
and maintain this plant.
3. Furnish option at a negotiated price of approximately 15 acres
immediately adjacent to and in a southerly direction from the
above 5 acres.
4. Upon completion of Sewer Plant II that the operation of the
old sewer plant will cease to operate as a sewer treatment
facility.

A special meeting of the Pearland City Council was held on Saturday
February 61 1965, at the City Hall, 14429 Texas Avenue, with the
following city officials and guests in attendance.
Mayor John G. Kegley, Councilmen Thomas P. Alexander, Victor A.
Nolen, Lloyd C. Hawkins, Gene E. Sanders and City Secretary W. A.
McClellan.
Mayor Kegley called the meeting to order at 12:40 P. M. and stated
that the purpose of the meeting was to consider buying the strip
of land 50' X 125' west of the G. C. & S. F. Railway and adjacent
to the east side of Lot 25, in Block 14. This lot'was recently
purchased by J. H. Williams, who is in the process of building a _
welding shop on it. Also, that the City had made an offer to the
owner and was waiting to hear from him;. J. H. Williams agreed
to accept the sum of $700.00 for his equity which would leave a
balance due Connor Herridge of $3,300.00.
Motion made by Councilman Alexander, seconded by Councilman Nolen
that the City purchase this tract of land for the sum of $4,000.00
cash, subject to a title check acceptable to the City Attorney.
All Councilmen voted "aye" with no "noes." Motion carried.
